We are governed by a Board of Trustees in accordance with Kentucky Revised Statute Chapter 75 and gain our revenue through property taxes that are currently capped by law at .10 cents per hundred dollars of assessed property value.
Our district is provided protection from two stations staffed by Career full and part-time staff at both stations during the work-week and by Volunteer staff at night on an in-house schedule at our Goshen Station. Without our Volunteer staff we could not provide the protection, currently evaluated by the Insurance Service Office (ISO) as a Public Protection Class (PPC) “4″ within 1000 foot of a fire hydrant and “8B” outside of that distance. This rating was achieved in August 2013. Our area of jurisdiction is a blend of Suburban Residential, Rural, Equestrian & Agricultural, Light Commercial and some very limited Light Industry.
Our Trustees are a blend of appointed and elected community leaders who volunteer their time to ensure the continued function of the District just as our Firefighters in many cases volunteer their time to ensure the safety of our residents and visitors.
